ART COMMISSIONS

Each piece is an especially unique undertaking, and as such, commissioned work will be quoted on a case-to-case basis. Inquiries can be made by filling out the form at the bottom of this page, or by emailing me at thegaallery@gmail.com.

In commissioned work, I am creating a piece of art unique to your needs. To assist you through the commission process, I have put together a step-by-step guide. If you are interested in a Pet Portrait, the Photo Guide can help you take a great photo of your pet.

STEP ONE: SIZE

There are a number of different sized from which to choose. Size is limited based on the amount of color you want included in the piece. For image references, please see Step Two Color.

Black and White - 4" x 4" to 16" x 16"
A Touch of Color - 4" x 4" to 20" x 20"
All the Colors - 8" x 8" t0 36" x 36"

Please note that the size you choose is the "paper size" and the image itself will be marginally smaller for aesthetic and framing purposes.

STEP TWO: COLOR

I work in a variety of different color levels to help fit your preferences.

STEP THREE: PHOTO

Once you have decided on the size and color of your piece, you must choose your favorite photos that you would like me to use as a reference. Specifically for Pet Portraits, this is probably the single most important part of the whole process simply because the quality of the photos have such an impact on the detail I can achieve in the final product. I have put together a Photo Guide to assist you in this process. Please note that if I cannot see the fine details in the photo when I zoom in on my computer, I will not be able draw the detail and capture the full quality of realism.

STEP FOUR: DATE

Please let me know if you have any specific dates in mind for when you need the piece to be completed. Each piece can take anywhere from two weeks to a month to make. I do generally have a waitlist, however I always do my best to accommodate requests and timelines.

STEP FIVE: PAYMENT

Once we have agreed on a reference photo and timeslot for your piece, we will discuss the price. At this time, a $50 non-refundable deposit will be required. This fee will be deducted from the final price that we discussed. The balance is payable upon completion and satisfaction of your art piece. Payment can be paid either by check, by a secure bank transfer via PayPal or Venmo.

If you decide to pay with check, the finished piece will be mailed once the check clears.

STEP SIX: UPDATES

I will notify you when I begin to work on your commission. If your commission piece needs to have customized sketches made, then I will send them to you for your choice and approval. This is to ensure that you are happy with the composition before I begin to add in the details.

As social media is my main source of advertising, I will take photos of the art throughout the process. If you are interested in following along, you can follow me on Instagram. Or if you prefer, after I finish the piece, I would be happy to send you the photos via email.

If your piece is a surprise gift for someone, please make sure to let me know in advance so that I only post on social media after the gift has been received.

STEP SEVEN: COMPLETION

Once your piece is completed, I will send you a photo of it for your final approval. At that time you can let me know if you would like any special messages added to the back or on a separate card. I will have your piece backed with artist grade archival foam core. This will give it more structure for when you frame it. Finally, the piece will be thoroughly wrapped and protected before being sent to you. The tracking number will be emailed to you when it is sent out.

Please note that before the piece is mailed to you, the remaining balance of your commission price must be paid in full. If you choose to pay by check, the piece will be mailed after the check clears.
