MEET THE TEAM

I would not say that I am a contemporary artist that draws pictures of what I am feeling, but rather an artist that uses the process of creating to work through an emotion. In my opinion, it is the process itself that is a calming force which takes over and that is where my art style begins. 

 

I enjoy drawing all sorts of objects and scenery from people, pets, wildlife, and even architecture, but I have found my  favorite thing to study and draw for myself is outer space.

Working in stippling, I explore the dimensional aspects of outer space and scale to create a conversation between the different approaches of perspective. A single dot can describe a star, a planet or even a whole galaxy - with an assemblage of dots you can begin to dialogue about the treatment of space. Not only looking far away at the entirety of what we call “the known universe” but also looking microscopically at the space around us here on Earth's surface. Space is not as vast and empty as it may appear from a distance but rather a dynamic cosmic storm up close. The illusion of scale hides all the chaos of combustible gasses and destructive debris and allows us to experience its calming repetitive nature of indescribable glowing specs off in the distance of our night sky.
